Spring is in the air, and as such we are including a bottle of Tanners Cava in your ticket price to take home with you, because nothing says Spring like a glass of Cava. The demand for the historic tours has grown and grown, in no small part because the old market town of Shrewsbury has a long and fascinating past. Tanners sits at the heart of one of it’s oldest streets, Wyle Cop. Our unique building dates in parts to the 15th Century and has seen many changes over the years yet architecturally remains enchantingly unaltered. As one of the oldest secular buildings in Shrewsbury there is a wealth of history within these walls. As Tanners headquarters, it’s wonderful time capsule and still a-buzz with people and the day to day running of a business.

Our guests will be greeted with a glass of Tanners Cava before commencing a tour of the cellars, passageway and the many rooms of this charming Wyle Cop property. Hear the old stories, see the location of Fezziwig’s Party in the 1984 adaptation of A Christmas Carol starring George C Scott. Learn what the building was before Tanners arrived here and the purposes it has served throughout it many years of residency, right up to the present day.

We look forward to showing you around and sharing a piece of Tanners history.
