Also known as ‘Saint George’ and pronounced Ah-yohr-YEE-tee-koh, this Greek red grape makes decent, savoury, almost beefy reds that work well with meaty Grecian dishes. The variety can age well, have a quite complex, spicy side to it, as well as making light, frivolous rosés. You’ll find it mostly in the Nemea region.
