Champ Divin

Champ Divin, translates as the divine field. This wonderful estate in the South of the Jura region belongs to Valérie and Fabrice Closset-Gaziaux. Both grew up in the east of France and both studied Agriculture, specialising in soil and earth sciences, before heading off to Africa to help with farming projects over there.

They then returned to France to work in the Loire Valley advising vignerons on organic practices. In January 2008 they took over Richard Delay’s estate at Gevingey in the heart of Jura’s prime vine growing region. They have just 5 ha of vineyards: 2 ha Pinot Noir; 2 ha Chardonnay; 1 ha of Savignin, all of which are farmed organically and biodynamically and they are accredited for both. Everything is done by hand and the wines are made with very low levels of added sulphur. They also keep bees.
