Firmin Dezat and Domaine Thibault

Firmin Dezat is in his early 30s and has taken on half of the André Dezat holdings: 23 ha across Sancerre, Menetou-Salon and Pouilly-Fumé, as well as the existing chai.

Firmin worked in California before returning in 2011, as the 18th generation amazingly, to the terroir of his ancestors in Verdigny. He is passionate about the benefits of sustainable agriculture, and the estate will be fully organic in 2024. The Sancerre whites are rich with a fine line of acidity, coming from both the chalk-based Terre Blanches, and the limestone Caillottes. His Pouilly-Fumé is pin-sharp and intense in flavour. All Fermin’s wines benefit from time in bottle.
