Kerpen

He is the eighth generation to run the estate over a period of 250 years, an estate which is classic Middle Mosel, all Riesling grown on blue Devonian slate. He is an intriguing blend of modern and traditional with small basket presses still in use and the juice fermented in large, old oak barrels in a small winery behind an elegant Jugendstil house on the banks of the river. His wines are opulent, open and lusciously fruity with wonderful balance and show well both in youth and when aged.
