Magnolia

A crossing of Scuppernong/Hope with a Topsail offspring in its pedigree, this grapey little number hails from the North Carolina Agriculture Plant Breeding Centre and briefly showed up in Texan wines imported to the UK in the late 1990s. You had to be fairly adventurous to enjoy it then, let alone left-over bottles you might find now. Hope and Topsail are both Vitis rotundiflora vines, not Vitis vinifera.
