Meulenhof

This estate goes back to the fourteenth century and was mostly in the hands of Cistercian monks until secularisation under Napoleon.

Since 1919 it has been in the Justen family and has been run by Stefan Justen since he took over from his father in 1990. The vineyards now comprise seven hectares mostly on the Erdener Treppchen, Erdener Prälat and Wehlener Sonnenuhr sites with many of the vines ungrafted. After harvesting the grapes are fermented in oak using natural yeasts in the cellars under Stefan's house. Rich and full in style, they are noted for their excellent price to quality ratio. He is a serious and dedicated winemaker.
