Moët & Chandon

Such is the success of Moët that a bottle somewhere around the globe is being opened every few seconds.

The premises in Epernay are a must visit of any trip to Champagne, as is the Moët-owned Abbey of Hautvillers, erstwhile home of the legendary monk, Dom Pérignon. Visitors are told that Moët is properly pronounced ‘mo-wett’ not ‘moay’ because it’s a Dutch name. A massive Moët et Chandon bottle has pride of place in our Wyle Cop offices and is thought to be the only one known in existence. Moët once asked if they could have it but, "It belongs here," was the answer! Larger than a Nebuchadnezzar, the glass is probably too thin for it ever to have ever held champagne.
