Rings

Rings estate is based at Freinsheim in the Rheinpfalz and is run by two brothers, Steffen and Andreas Rings who, after taking over from their father in 2001, concentrated 100% on wine rather than the mix of vineyards and orchards, and decided to be totally quality driven.

They currently have 28 hectares of vines which they are expanding and they have a total commitment to top quality. Plantings are split between red and white, and between Riesling and Pinot varieties. Their main vineyards are around Freinsheim, Kallstadt and Ungstein, including the famous Saumagen vineyard. Soils are mainly sandy, loess and gravel with chalk and clay, viticulture is carried out in as eco-friendly a way as possible. In the winery, both stainless steel and wood are used depending on the wine with the top wines given extended ageing before release. They are widely recognised as one of the shooting stars of the German wine scene and were admitted to the prestigious VDP organisation in 2016.
