Trousseau

A dark, powerful red that originates in the Jura, but may be encountered more frequently in the Douro Valley and Dão as Bastardo, possibly leading to the enquiry, “Bastardo, Don Auld, but where’s your Trousseau?” It has a robust, quite peppery flavour. Miniscule plantings still exist on the island of Madeira.
