Tanners customers’ heads may have been turned a bit by the warm climate wines from closer to home, specifically from Spain and Italy. It’s time however to revisit Australian wines in all their varietal glory, so look out for minerally Chardonnays, Shirazes (Syrahs) with a white pepper sappiness and very fine Cabernets, and that’s before getting into the Italian and Iberian varieties that are fleshing out the ranges.
