Where do you deliver?

We deliver all over the UK – our delivery information can be found here. We do not deliver to overseas.

Can you deliver next day?

Can I specify a delivery date?

If you require a specific delivery date, we will endeavour to accommodate your needs. Please let us know via the delivery instructions at the checkout or contact our Sales Team on 01743 234455 or sales@tanners-wines.co.uk as soon as possible.

Note: we cannot guarantee a specified date will be possible, subject to delivery options available.

How is the delivery charge calculated?

Our delivery charges are calculated per delivery address. Full details can be found here.

Sending Gifts

Please note when sending gifts that addresses must be accurate, particularly for recipients at large organisations. Don’t forget to include a daytime phone number and 'Delivery Address Instructions' at checkout on where to leave the goods if the recipient is out i.e. 'If out leave with neighbour'. If you don’t leave an instruction, the driver will leave a card to which the recipient will have to respond and it will result in a delay to your delivery.

Can I send direct to recipient?

Yes, just put the recipient’s details on the delivery address page of the checkout (where you can also add a gift message), and on the payment page make sure you add your billing details. We’ll never include invoices in gift parcels.

Can I include a gift message?

Yes, gift messages can be added on the first page of the website checkout, just below the delivery address.

If I buy a gift box and bottle, will you put it in the gift box?

Yes, if you place an order that includes bottles, a giftbox and a gift message (added at checkout), we will put them together and ensure they are properly presented for gifting.

Using Gift Vouchers

I have an e-gift card, where can I use it?

E-gift cards can be used online and can be added as a payment method at either the basket or payment pages. They are also accepted over the phone or in branch.

I have paper vouchers, where can I use them?

These vouchers can only be used in branch. If required they can also be posted in and used over the phone, please contact us on 01743 234455 to arrange this. 

Amending an order

I would like to change my order, what should I do?

It may be possible to add to or change an existing order depending on the order status. We advise getting in contact as soon as possible (usually via telephone on01743 234455) to request this.

I’ve made a mistake on my order details, what should I do?

Please contact us as soon as possible at web@tanners-wines.co.uk with the changes required and your order number.

Do you substitute items?

If an item ordered is out of stock or has a change of vintage we will endeavour to contact you to discuss your order options.

Breakages: Please keep hold of damaged goods in the condition they are received and contact the Tanners Team on 01743 234455 or sales@tanners-wines.co.uk to organise a credit or replacement.

Faulty Wines: If you discover a faulty wine that you have bought from us, please retain the bottle, its contents and packaging and contact the Tanners Team on 01743 234455 or sales@tanners-wines.co.uk to organise a credit or replacement.

Incorrect items: If you have received incorrect wines or spirits within your order please contact the Tanners Team on 01743 234455 or sales@tanners-wines.co.uk

Undelivered items: It is common for parcels to be divided by the couriers into multiple shipments. Please allow up until the end of the advised delivery time to receive all of your purchases. If anything is missing beyond this time, please contact the Tanners Team on 01743 234455 or sales@tanners-wines.co.uk


Under the Bunch Code, if you don't like any wine that you buy from us, for whatever reason, you can return any unopened bottles within a month of purchase and we shall refund your money without question or delay.

Refunds for Tasting Tickets: If you need to arrange a refund at any time prior to us posting your ticket(s), please ring 01743 234455. Once we've posted the ticket(s), if you are unable to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can and wherever possible, we will attempt to resell your ticket(s) on your behalf.

Please note: Once we've despatched, refunds can only be issued in the instance that we are able to resell your ticket(s).

Acknowledgement of delivery (can you let me know when I will receive my delivery?)

Where possible our courier partner will send you an SMS and/ or email to advise a delivery slot. Please ensure your contact details and delivery instructions are accurate at the checkout.

How will my order be delivered?

Your wines will be delivered in secure, recyclable boxes which should have sufficient protection to your goods whilst they are in transit. If you are within our local delivery radius it is likely that one of our own Tanners’ vans will deliver to you, otherwise we have a partnership with our national couriers to deliver to areas outside of this.

What happens if the recipient isn’t in?

The couriers will leave the parcel safe where possible and following the instructions on the order, you can add these at the checkout. If the parcel cannot be left safe please make this clear on the delivery instruction or select the option of 'Addressee Only'.

Do you deliver at weekends and Bank Holidays?

We offer a Saturday Service option at £25 per delivery.

We do not deliver over Bank Holidays.
