Sauvignon Blanc

Clean, vibrant with lots of flavour, Sauvignon Blanc actually ranges in taste from a grassy, asparagus style that the French prefer, all the way to full-throttle New Zealand Marlborough where generous passionfruit and cooked gooseberry flavours take over. Essentially it’s a friendly dry white that goes well with food and has bags of personality. You’ll find it in its driest form as the classic of the Loire (Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé), via the more intense, fruitier styles across the Southern Hemisphere (South Africa and Chile make a less aggressive style), back to the soft peachiness of Bordeaux and California, where it gets aged often in oak and called Fumé  Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc is a truly international grape variety and wherever it is planted, it remains recognisable.
