Petit Manseng
Petit Manseng is a white grape variety originating from the South-West of France, particularly the Jurançon and Gascony regions. Renowned for its thick skins and naturally high acidity, it is often used to produce sweet, late-harvest wines, though dry styles are increasingly available and very good. Petit Manseng exhibits intense aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and honey, often with subtle spice and floral notes. Its combination of freshness, richness, and ageing potential makes it highly prized for both luscious sweet and balanced, fresh, dry white wines. In the Basque language it is called Izkiriot Ttipi, in case you are caught without a translator.
