Rosemaund Farm Distillery
This is the phoenix that has risen from the ashes of Chase Distillery. Following the sale lock, stock and barrel to Diageo in 2021, Diageo decided to close the Herefordshire distillery in January 2025 and move production to Scotland. This gave James Dashwood Chase and his sister Lorna Chase the opportunity to buy back the distillery and crucially the stock of English Whisky that their father William has started to mature around 2013. This means rather unusually for English Whisky their inaugural release is already a 10 year whisky. Aged in Herefordshire, James says it has picked up the gentle aroma of apples from the orchards that surround the warehouse. He further explained that the English climate being more mild than Scotland produces a smooth, more gentle style of spirit. For a first release it is brilliant. They have produced just 2700 bottles, 2000 of which they have sold by ballot and the remainder is for the specialist independent trade such as us.
