Laphroaig 10 Year Old, Islay Single Malt Whisky, 40% vol (gift box)
A big peaty nose with whiffs of seaweed, heavy with heather and medicinal notes. The palate is oily and round, hugely peaty with seaweed and salt, finishing long and dry. Using very mossy peat, Laphroaig is a most distinctive malt.

If there is a Scotch malt whisky that can transport you straight to the shores of Islay, it is Laphroaig. Full of earthiness, salinity and an almost iodine note to the peat, there is a soft, sweet flavour behind. A hugely complex and satisfying dram. Laphroaig is pronounced La-Froyg and this is a distinctive Islay whisky with flavours of smoke, peat, bonfires and seaweed as well as some spicy, fruity notes. It finishes salty and sweet. |
