Colinas do Douro Touriga Francesa, Douro Tinto 2024 En Primeur - Case of 12

£84.00

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV maybe be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

Near opaque and a matching sense of depth to the nose, this is very ripe and pretty, offering up a charming, velvety sweet nose of crushed reds, soft dark fruits, and white flowers. Full and juicy with a sweet edge, a combination of ripe fruits and oak, spicy-speckled tannins and good lift. Nicely textured, lots of fun and good energy. 0-5 years

Colinas do Douro

Situated in the far southeast of the Douro demarcated region, the vineyards of Colinas do Douro are a stone throw away from the Spanish border. This very large estate is the combination of four Quintas, providing over 476 ha of largely north facing vineyards at an average 600 metres in altitude. In contrast to the picture postcard terraced slopes of the central Douro, the location is wild and rugged, as we can testify having experienced a thrilling off-road jeep ride on our tour of the estate! Intriguingly, the area also encompasses a nature reserve, playing host to bats, native small birds and the stunning endangered Egyptian vulture. Heading up the wine side is the charismatic Marta Galamba, a terrific winemaker with an innate feel for getting the very best from her vines. They are currently building a new winery with the aim of being carbon neutral.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
