Dense Aromas of red fruit, black cherry, tomato, vanilla and pepper; cocoa powder and mild animal scents contribute to the final composition. Full in body, with good structure and typical complexity of Xinomavro.

Press Review

"Very pale ruby. Warm, spicy, ripe, red-fruit nose. Delicately aromatic. Then on the palate there's that dusty finish after beguiling fruit. So like Nebbiolo! With a really long, nuanced, satisfying finish. Delicious slightly cool. I liked this wine so much more than when I tasted it warmer. 17 points."

It is a family owned estate, today run by third generation George Diamantakos and they have been bottling their own wine since 2000 after planting began in 1979. The vineyards are situated at 300 metres altitude on limestone and schist soil with most of the plantings being the Xinomavro grape variety although there is one hectare of Prekniariko for white wines.

The vines are planted on protected eastern facing slopes protected from northern wines and with a warm summer climate. The winery is at the heart of the vineyards and after harvesting by hand the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel vats followed by maturation for six to twelve months in a mixture of French and American oak.
