Wonderfully deep and rounded aromas of creamy, gorgeous, blue and black fruits, and 12 months in ex-Chryseia casks has added a beautiful seasoning to the perfume. On the full side of medium-bodied, with plentiful ripe, supple tannins, overlaid with impressive levels of fruit, this has a plush, luxurious and elegant feel and excellent length. 0-7 years.

Altano is a brand name owned by the Symington family used for table wines from their own properties. Altano Reserva comes from a single quinta, Quinta do Ataíde, located in the beautiful Vilariça Valley.

It is the largest of three properties owned by the Symington family in this valley. The vineyard is 82 hectares (203 acres) and has one of the largest single planting of Touriga Nacional in the Douro. The vineyard was planted in the late 1970s/early 1980s so is now fully mature. The wine is made by Charles Symington and Pedro Correia.
