Angostura

Angostura Bitters was invented in the 19th century by a Prussian army surgeon called Dr Siegert when he was stationed in Venezuela with Simon Bolivar's army.

The firm is based on the Caribbean island of Trinidad and what is less known is that they also make a highly regarded range of rums. Distilled to a secret recipe dating from 1824, its best-known uses are the few drops on a sugar cube in a Champagne cocktail or as the ‘pink’ in a Pink Gin.
