Château La Fleur-Pourret

Château La Fleur-Pourret, a 4.5-hectare Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate located at the gateway to the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, was purchased in 2002 by the Manoncourt family. The property benefits from sharing a winemaking team and expertise with more renowned Saint Emilion 1er cru stablemate, Château Figeac.

The vineyard had the advantage of limestone-influenced soils and a favourable microclimate, while the exposure and diversity of its plots contribute to the complexity and balance of the wines. A programme of vineyard restructuring led by the Château-Figeac team has seen more than half of the vineyard renewed, with careful selection of rootstocks and clones to restore the finesse and identity of the terroir. Merlot and Cabernet Franc are the principal varieties, with Cabernet Franc representing a significant proportion of the plantings.

The estate practises environmentally sustainable viticulture and traditional vinification in concrete and stainless-steel vats followed by ageing for 12–13 months in French oak, including both new barrels, and ones that have seen a previous vintage of Château Figeac, sourced from sustainably-managed forests.
