Château Talbot
Still family owned and run by the Cordier family, Château Talbot has an enormous single vineyard of over 100 hectares in the Saint-Julien appellation, where their vines thrive on gravel soils over an iron-pan subsoil. Plantings are predominantly red vines with a small amount of white vines.
The wines have good structure when young and so have great ability to soften and develop with age. They are very elegant, with savoury aromatics and a rich palate. The property is named after John Talbot, Earl of Shrewsbury, who fought in the Hundred Years' War.
