Native New Yorker Dan Szor fell in love with the Cotswolds during many weekends spent escaping the London rat-race. He woke up one morning looking out over a field of golden barley and wondered why no one was distilling it, the rest, as they say, is history.
Setting up in the beautiful village of Stourton in the heart of the Cotswolds, they source the majority of their ingredients as locally as possible. The distillery is run by Nickolas Franchino, whose Italian family used to make spirits and liqueurs back home. Mentors include Harry Cockburn, a man with 45 years experience in the art of distilling including 20 years spent at the Bowmore Distillery on Islay, and Dr Jim Swan who advises countless distilleries around the world including Penderyn in Wales.
