Paringa Estate

World-class, cool-climate wines from Mornington Peninsula pioneers, Paringa Estate.

In 1983, Lindsay McCall had what he calls a ‘wine epiphany’. After tasting a 1980 Seville Estate Shiraz, he was convinced Victoria could rival the world’s great wine regions. He purchased a north-facing, derelict apple orchard on Mornington Peninsula and set about planting four hectares of vines. For the first 10 years, Lindsay balanced life as a geography teacher with winemaking and the estate. Finally in 1996, he decided to fully devote himself fully to Paringa, investing in a purpose-built winery and restaurant. From these humble beginnings, Paringa has gone on to become one of Australia’s most celebrated wine estates. Lindsay is now joined by his son, Jamie, and together they manage around 10 ha of wines and produce world-class, cool-climate wines.
