Another ancient white grape that originates in Georgia. It has a foursquare, ripe apple flavour that has good acidity to balance it and makes a very enjoyable mouthful. Traditionally it was made in clay pots, called qvevri, which can give it a more oxidised feel, but modern wineries make a fresher wine.
