Château Cantemerle, 5e cru classé Haut-Médoc 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£121.50 Sold Out

Cantemerle is currently a building site (GM Laure Canu was unfeasibly calm in the midst of an unlikely finish for ‘En Prim Week’) but the wine is formidable. Very attractive, it impressed again, plenty of volume and density of mulberry and damson fruit all in harmony with tension and texture. Balance is good, finish is clean and fresh. On form, as it so often is.

Château Cantemerle

This estate was family owned and run until 1980 when it was taken over by the SMA insurance group and managed by Cordier. In 1993 SMA decided to take the running of the property back 'in house' and created their own team and returned to the Bordeaux 'place' at the same time. Since then much renovation has taken place in the vineyards, both in terms of replanting and a 'greener' approach to vineyard management.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
