Château Cantemerle, 5e cru classé Haut-Médoc 2025 En Primeur (Case of 6)

£117.00

ALC 13%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV may be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

The new winery here has immediately paid dividends making a great and approachable wine. Super aromatic nose, this is intense and striking, black fruit core with a really pure and juicy feel. Silky tannins, soft textured, will drink early but such a lovely mouthful.

Neal Martin

Château Chantemerle

"This is a 30-hectare property situated close to Lesparre, right at the top end of the Médoc, mainly on gravel with a bit of clay. Its story begins in 1987 when Jean-Pierre Cruchon, from a long-established family of vine growers, acquired various plots around the village of Gaillan, three in a hamlet called Chante-Merle. A fourth was added later and the name Chantemerle registered in 1993. The family owns several other properties in the Médoc, all certified to HVE 3 which indicates care for the environment and sustainability in the vineyard and surrounding eco system and most are also Cru Bourgeois. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot ranging up to fifty years old are the main varieties planted on the predominantly gravelly soil. Green harvesting and leaf thinning are practised, and harvesting is a mixture of machine and manual with fermentation in stainless steel followed by ageing in oak of various ages for one year. The aim is to produce a supple, fruity wine with fine tannins."

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
