Château Ferrière, 3e cru classé Margaux 2023 (organic) En Primeur - Case of 6

£162.00

Appealing, fresh blackberry and currant on the nose that continues to the palate where a framework of toasty oak takes over with a lick of liquorice in behind. Claire Villars-Lurton explained that the tannins here have got silkier from better vine management and stopping pumping-over several vintages back. Ferrière is stylish, has a swish feel to it, and is rather overlooked in Margaux in general - it is a Third growth and Eric Boissenot consults.

Château Ferrière

With only 8 hectares under vine this is one of the smallest château and for many years when under the control of Château Lascombes the property was vitually unknown. In 1988 it was bought by the Merlaut family and given to Claire Villars after the death of her parents. She has completely renovated the property achieving organic status in 2015 and biodynamic in 2017. The wines are classic, elegant Margaux.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
