Château Le Pin, Pomerol 2023 En Primeur - Single bottle

£2,250.00

Sourced from a two-hectare plot of sandy gravel on a bed of deep clay, the 2023 Le Pin is a joy. Remarkably sensual from the off, on the nose there are enticing, intense notes of blackberry, mulberry, plum and spices. Delving deeper, you discover hints of leather, iron, graphite, and more black fruits on the palate. With sweet ripe tannins and an exuberant freshness, this is a plush, silky Le Pin. A truly aristocratic wine and surely one of the best in recent times.

Château Le Pin

Famous two hectare estate behind the village of Catusseau in Pomerol. The original plot was purchased by Jacques Thienpont in 1979 and 500 cases of wine made in the basement of a farmhouse on the land and named after a solitary pine tree. Additional plots have now been purchased and a new winery built with the production up to 700 cases in some years. It remains one of the world's most sought after and expensive wines.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
