Château Lynch-Bages, 5e cru classé Pauillac 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£420.00 Sold Out

Inevitably this wine is one of the more showy and extracted of the Left Bank, very much the Cazes style. We detected more restraint however, compared with the blockbusters of recent hot vintages, and the wine is impressive and not over-done (for us). The balance of dark, ripe black fruit with chunky tannins gives depth of flavour, a succulence but the feel and shape is quite fluid, pure fruit dominating what is a dynamic wine. It is big and bold but works well and should live mid-to long-term.

Château Lynch-Bages

Jean-Charles Cazes bought this 90 hectare estate in 1936. He devoted years and huge amounts of energy to the wines of Lynch-Bages and his grandson, Jean-Michel is now restructuring the estate and following in his grandfather's footsteps. Offering great value for money this can often be looked at as mini Mouton Rothschild and is always one of the most popular en primeur releases.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
