Château Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc 2025 En Primeur (Case of 6)

£124.50

ALC 14%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV may be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

We like the progress at this property, more skill and finesse rather than the rather solid, tannic wines of the past. Lots of ripe damson fruit, a swirl of fine tannin. All in balance and nicely expressed. Sociando-Mallet is coming back to the fold.

Château Sociando-Mallet

The Sociando-Mallet estate was re-vitalised by the energetic and dedicated Jean Gautreau, who bought it as a near ruin in 1969 with just five hectares of vines. Since then it has been transformed into a fine and thriving property producing wines that out-perform their Cru bourgeois classification. Today it covers a much larger 83 hectares just to the north of Saint-Estèphe and produces full-bodied wines that need time.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
