Churchill's Estates Grafite Grande Reserva Branco, Douro 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£120.00

75cl ALC 13%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV maybe be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

A blend of Rabigato, Viosinho, and Gouveio, from Churchill?s highest altitude vineyards, aged in new French oak casks for 12 months. This shows an attractive creaminess on the nose, with a bright, citrusy frame and notes of white flowers. The palate is very intense and bright, full and fleshed out, with a tangy and creamy tropical theme and a long mealy finish. This will grow in complexity but it?s a neatly judged glass already. 0-7 years.

Churchill's

Johnny Graham left Cockburn’s as a director in 1980 to set up the first independent Port house in seventy years in Oporto. The old Graham’s ‘family’ business and its name had been sold to the Symingtons in 1970 so he chose instead to adopt his wife’s maiden name of Churchill. With the purchase of Quinta da Gricha and Quinta do Rio, both renowned Grade A vineyards in the premium Cima Corgo region of the Douro, Churchill’s is now in control from grape to bottle. As well as producing very fine, well-structured Ports, Johnny has been at the forefront of Douro Red wine production.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
