Churchill's Vintage Port 2024 - Magnum En Primeur (Case of 3)

£225.00

ALC 20%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV may be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

A stylish effort in 2024: cool and measured, offering sumptuous dark cherry, black plum, and sweet red fruits, a touch of mint, soft herbs, cream, lavender, and marzipan. Dense and rich, this shows a pleasing spiciness and a playful sweetness that belies its structured nature; it is very well balanced, bright and fine-boned, with a delightful chunky, core of black cherry.

Churchill's

Johnny Graham left Cockburn’s as a director in 1980 to set up the first independent Port house in seventy years in Oporto. The old Graham’s ‘family’ business and its name had been sold to the Symingtons in 1970 so he chose instead to adopt his wife’s maiden name of Churchill. With the purchase of Quinta da Gricha and Quinta do Rio, both renowned Grade A vineyards in the premium Cima Corgo region of the Douro, Churchill’s is now in control from grape to bottle. As well as producing very fine, well-structured Ports, Johnny has been at the forefront of Douro Red wine production.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
