Manoella, Douro Branco, Wine & Soul 2024 En Primeur - Case of 12

£114.00

75cl ALC 12.5%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV maybe be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

A blend of Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato, and Códega do Larinho from a 58-year-old, north facing granite slope, fermented in tank and concrete egg. Delicate aromas of citrus, melon, white flowers, a little apple skin, fennel and soft spices. More succulent fruits on the palate, a hint of pineapple and a salty tang. This is medium bodied, bright and lively with a juicy core and a fine mineral quality; well balanced and that salty bite brings you back for more! 0-5 years.

Wine & Soul

Wine & Soul is the joint project of husband and wife Jorge Serôdio Borges and Sandra Tavares da Silva. They bought an old port warehouse in the Vale de Mendiz in the heart of the beautiful Pinhão valley in 2003.

The project is called Pintas, after their dog, a Pointer. The estate is 6 hectares of which only 2.5ha are under vine, there is also an olive grove. The average age of the vines is over 70 years, and is planted with over 30 different varieties. The wine making is traditional but carefully done as you would expect from a couple that are both qualified Oenologists, Sandra is winemaker for Cristiano van Zeller and her family property Quinta de Chocapalha, whilst Jorge used worked as a wine maker for Dirk Niepoort and is currently winemaker at Passadouro and several other projects. They produce red, white and port wines.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
