A long-time customer favourite, a classical blend based on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, with about six months in oak. A great Douro nose of schist, peppery herbs and scrub, dark flowers, and ripe red fruits. Juicy and supple with some pleasing light grip, and attractive crisp red fruit flavours. 0-5 years.

Altano is a brand name owned by the Symington family used for table wines from their own properties. Altano Reserva comes from a single quinta, Quinta do Ataíde, located in the beautiful Vilariça Valley.

It is the largest of three properties owned by the Symington family in this valley. The vineyard is 82 hectares (203 acres) and has one of the largest single planting of Touriga Nacional in the Douro. The vineyard was planted in the late 1970s/early 1980s so is now fully mature. The wine is made by Charles Symington and Pedro Correia.
