Pascal Jamet

Catherine & Pascal Jamet have established their successful winery in a very short space of time. After graduating from oenological studies in Beaune in 1990, Pascal then spent a couple of years as a wine technician in Lyon. In 1994 he started to plant his own vines on family land in Saint Joseph, starting with some Roussanne.

After restoring and renovating a run-down building in the centre of Arras, Pascal and Catherine continued to plant vines on unadulterated land. And a new purpose-built cellar was constructed across the road in 2008. Pascal’s passion is for cultivating lesser-known traditional varieties such as Bia (white) and Dureza (red), although they do not make enough to sell yet, these are for friends and family. As temperatures rise these could be two varieties to look out for in the future. They are now fully organic and have 8 ha in total, vineyard holdings have reduced a little recently as they weren’t conducive to organic methods. Pascal says he would rather have less vines of a higher quality. Their style is for wines that are soft with chunky fruit for early drinking.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
