Vieux Château Certan, Pomerol 2025 En Primeur (Case of 6)

£810.00

ALC 14%

This wine is still to be bottled and as such the advertised ABV may be subject to change on its eventual arrival and inspection into the U.K.

Delicate purple fruit, cherries and strawberry preserve on the nose. Terrifically, pure and precise this is a very complete VCC that delivers a generous, seductive core of dark plum, spice, liquorice and cocoa on the mid-palate. Superbly balanced, the tannins are ripe and polished, whilst the fresh acidity adds to this classic in the making!

Vieux Château Certan

Alexandre Thienpont is a meticulous man and this shines through in the wines of Vieux-Château Certan. Manual picking and careful handling of the grapes makes for fine and elegant wines that have the ability to age well.

The family bought this 14 hectare estate in 1924 and have continued to grow its reputation. The vines have an average age in excess of 50 years and are all in one block with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Often this is the best wine in Pomerol and one of the very best in the whole of Bordeaux.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
