Château Potensac
Covering 65 hectares this estate is owned and managed by Jean-Hubert Delon, the director of Léoville-Las-Cases.
It dates back to 1544 when the vineyard area was named la Salle de Poujeaux, where the vines are well situated on a rare low hill in the northern Médoc, close to the village of Ordonnac, with soils similar to those of Saint-Estèphe. The wines are typical Médoc - deep, with good structure and often needing time to mature. Unusually, the village church is where the bottles are stored and which gives its name to the second wine, Chapelle de Potensac.
