Dalwhinnie Distillery

The Dalwhinnie distillery was built in 1898 and stands in an exposed location on the side of the road through the Drumochter Pass. At 1,075 feet above sea level it is the highest distillery in Scotland . With a slightly chequered history it is now owned by United Distillers. The whiskies have a long slow maturation in some of the harshest Scottish weather.
