Macabeo/Viura

The white grape of Rioja – and by extension many other Spanish whites often copying the style, Viura is particularly good married with oak, making those rich, long-aged whites that are sadly nowadays out of fashion. The new wave, clean and bright whites of modern Rioja are good, fresh, lemony whites but definitely for drinking sooner rather than later.
