Château Pédesclaux, 5e cru classé Pauillac 2023 En Primeur - Case of 6

£150.00

Much more density and richness from the top dog in the Lorenzetti Family stable. Jean-Michel Wilmotte is increasing the polish and precision every vintage, and it shows. They got their Cabernet, which comes from plots all over Pauillac, harvested at the right time, and the focus is perfect. Behind some lovely mulberry and blackberry fruit is a touch od spice, powerful but silky tannins and excellent length of flavour. Generous, harmonious, quite linear but easy on the finish. As good as we can remember.

Château Pédesclaux

Created at the beginning of the 19th century by M. E Pédesclaux, a Bordelais wine broker, Château Pédesclaux is now owned by Jacky and Françoise Lorenzetti who also own Lilian Ladouys in Saint-Estèphe.

Despite its classification this château has been through a quiet phase and is emerging now showing its true class and typical Pauillac fruit and tannin. The property has recently increased in size through acquisition of neighbouring vineyards to 48 hectares. A large new chai has been built and the château building extended by surrounding it in glass to make one of the most stunning properties in the Médoc.

About En Primeur

Lying Abroad/En Primeur/In Bond Wines

Wines offered ‘Lying Abroad’ or ‘En Primeur’ provide a good way to secure some of the most sought after wines at opening prices. In addition we ensure it is the cheapest way to buy favourite mid-priced wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône, so please ask us for our offers or check our website for latest reports. Prices are clearly marked in our sales literature and are exclusive of duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT. Shipment of claret and Port normally takes place around 30 months after the vintage, burgundy and Rhône usually more quickly. A second invoice for the duty, shipping, marine insurance and VAT on the value of the wine is charged at the time of shipment - view current duty rates. There are no further charges for deliveries to a UK mainland home or work address. Your Lying Abroad purchases are covered under The Bunch Code of Practice which can be sent on request or viewed here.
