New Zealand Whites Half Dozen
New Zealand is so well known for Sauvignon Blanc that other varieties don’t often get a look in. Alongside the passion fruit-filled style of Tanners NZ Sauvignon, this case showcases the aromatic styles that the cool climate produces so well. Pinot Gris is in a richer, fuller style, more akin to Alsace than Northern Italy and whilst NZ Riesling is usually dry, this example is off-dry and pure, comparable to a Mosel Kabinett. The Viognier is full and rich like those found in Condrieu, whilst Kumeu Chardonnay is famous the world over for its Burgundian style. Finally, the ‘Field Blend’ is an alluring, rarely seen blend of Viognier, Petit Manseng and Sauvignon Blanc.
