Bottega Carpano
The history of Carpano dates back to 1786 in Turin when Antonio Benedetto Carpano first invented Vermouth. He trained a a herbalist and it was he who came up with the idea of steeping herbs and spices in the local moscatel wine. It remained in the Carpano family until 1982 when a 50% share was aquired by Fratelli Branca Distillerie, the owners of Fernet Branca. This process was completed in 2001 when production was moved from Turin to Milan.
