Sourced from a mix of sites through the middle Nahe, this offers aromatic white fruits, peach, and citrus which hint at the refreshing character of the palate. Excellent purity, very good length, and ready to go! 0-5 years.

Source from mature vines in the Leistenberg vineyard and partly matured in larger oak barrels. Expressive mineral quality (Tonschiefer means clay slate), ample yet super fresh, with delicate peach fruit and a lovely spicy vanilla note. A great customer favourite for good reason. 0-7 years.

This vineyard has been in the possession of the Dönnhoff family for over a century and the slatey soil here is perfect for Kabinett wines. This has tangy minerality to balance the vibrant peach and pear fruits and the superbly judged sweetness. Delicious, classic Kabinett.

This has been a huge favourite since we took on the inaugural 2020 release. A full, rounded, slightly softer Kabinett from next door to the Hermannshöhle. Peach and apricot stone fruits, sweet yellow flowers, lots of spicy, stony minerals and nicely integrated acidity. 0-7 years

This old south-facing vineyard on grey slate and sandstone, takes its name from the wild cherries that used to grow here, and it dependably produces expressive wines with great depth of fruit. Cherries and a mix of orange citrus, this is voluminous yet lacy, wonderfully lively and lifted, and incredibly juicy. A classic Spätlese. 2-9 years

Erste Lage. A steep south-facing slope on limestone and distinctive red ‘Rotliegend’ sandstone, with vines from 10-40 years of age. Smoky citrus and lightly creamy white fruits, lemon-scented herbs, mint and spicy softer yellow fruits. Succulent, with a zesty drive that makes the whole feel precise, focused and super fresh. Bone dry but not hard, and very long. 2-9 years

A monopole vineyard lying close to the river, next to the bridge at Oberhäusen, with a unique microclimate that provides cool nights and warm days, perfect for a long season and late harvests. Electric lime-charged acidity, a mix of white and green fruits (and herbs), juicy peach and wet stones. Rich yet light on its feet with a playfully sweet, tangy, uplifting finish. 2-9 years

Dönnhoff’s top vineyard, and it has produced a jaw-dropping wine this year, full of depth and complexity of exquisite fruit flavours. Delicate yet intense, showing super minerality and a marvellous harmony with great length. Compact for now, seamless in its balance, and while delicious, one to stow away. 3-12 years

A tiny release in 2024 but very special juice. Gloriously exotic aromatic intensity that leads with Bacchus-like passion fruits and mango, supported by yellow plums, cherry stones, and citrus with a typical herby/floral mix. This is racy and alive, full of complexity but very linear and classical, lifted and pure. One that will reward patience. 8-25 years.

This shows some fine herbs and a little earth, crisp white peach, a hint of smoke and a glorious mix of white flowers, wet stones and citrus. The palate shows a touch of spritz and feels tightly wound, with great energy and tang, and superb intensity. Lively and juicy, more peach fruit and a long, stony, and herby finish. Finely tuned and classical, this will fill out in time and should have a long life. 3-12 years.
