Château La Prade
The Thienpont family arrived from Belgium during the 19th century and have steadily established themselves at the heart of the vinous life of Bordeaux. At several properties they are making use of Stéphane Derenoncourt's talents and this team effort is producing some stunning results.
The family owns a number of properties in the Côtes de Francs, bordering Saint-Emilion, and have been largely responsible for its burgeoning reputation. Nicolas Thienpont bought La Prade in 2000. It consists of seven hectares, 85% planted with Merlot, on a limestome plateau and slopes at Saint-Cibard.
