Château Lanessan

An impressive château situated close to the village of Saint-Julien, Lanessan has a history going back to the early 14th century.

In 1793 it passed to the Delbos family and their descendants, the Bouteiller family, still own it today. The estate is 260 hectares with 40 given over to vines in a fairly classic mix of Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Winemaking is traditional with a reasonably high proportion of new barrels used each year. The wine is solid, well made and can offer very good value for money. Results have been especially good since winemaker Paz Espejo has been in charge.
