Château Poujeaux was owned by the Theil family since the 1920s but they sold to the Cuveliers of Saint Emilion's Clos Fourtet in 2008. The 52 hectares of vines, in one parcel, produce extremely consistent wines that are very typical of Moulis. In the opinion of many, the wines deserve fifth growth status and are well-known for their ability to develop slowly, ageing into elegant and well-structured clarets.
