Château Puygueraud

The Thienpont family, originally from Belgium, bought this property in 1946. The 47 hectares are on a rocky outcrop above the Dordonge and around a 15th century castle.

Today, the property is run by Nicolas Thienpont and his son Cyrille with the assistance of top consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt. The other nearby properties belonging to the Thienponts such as La Prade and Laclaverie are also made here. The vines are mainly Merlot on a clay/limestone soil. A small amount of white is also produced.
