Courvoisier
Courvoisier is one of the most iconic and respected names in the world of cognac. Founded in the early 19th century in Jarnac, France, Courvoisier quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality cognac with a refined and elegant character.
It is one of the "big four" cognac houses, alongside Hennessy, Rémy Martin and Martell. Their cognac is made primarily from Ugni Blanc grapes grown in the prestigious Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Borderies regions, known for their superior terroirs. The distillation process follows traditional methods, with the spirit double-distilled in copper pot stills, and then aged in French oak barrels for several years. The result is a smooth, rich cognac with notes of fruit, spice, and vanilla. Courvoisier's range includes the VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), and XO (Extra Old), each offering different levels of complexity and ageing. Courvoisier was reportedly a favourite of Napoleon Bonaparte, and it continues to carry that legacy today.
