Henri Ehrhart

Henri Ehrhart is a top Alsatian producer based in the picturesque town of Ammerschwir that lies below the Vosgnes mountains, north-west of Colmar. Henri started the business in the 1970s, purchasing four vineyards in Ammerschwir including his Kaefferkopf vineyard, a grand cru site renowned for its elegant, mineral, powerful Rieslings.

The family firm is now in the hands of Henri’s children, his son Cyrille and daughter Sophie. Cyrille has managed the winery since 2009 and was joined by talented enologist Laurence Schatz in 2010, and his sister Sophie in 2012 as sales and marketing director. Their purpose-built winery and bottling plant is on the edge of town overlooking the vineyards. They are a sizeable producer of Alsatian wines, with a reputation founded on their Riesling from the famous Kaefferkopf vineyard. There is a unified passion for wine here - working closely with nature, understanding the terroir and each vintage - resulting in superb wines with an excellent price to quality ratio.
